Contributions

There are several ways that you can help us fulfill our humanitarian mission. First, you must know that we are a private not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) corporation, chartered in the State of Illinois in 1981.

We are very grateful for financial contributions! This is not a solicitation but a statement of fact. We couldn't exist without contributions of all sizes. We are funded by private contributions from individuals, matching gifts, businesses large and small, church and community service organizations, corporations, and foundations. In addition, many contributions are received each year as memorials to a loved one or friend, or in honor of someone for an extraordinary effort.

While our pilots are very generous, we also rely upon contributions and support from individuals, memorial and matching gifts, businesses large and small, churches and community service organizations, corporations, and foundations. These funds are used to support a paid, professional staff of Flight Coordinators, the technologies they require to communicate among patients, pilots, and the health care and social service communities, and the educational tools we utilize to reach an ever-expanding population in need of these free flight services.

“Saving Samantha”

Samantha“When your child is diagnosed with cancer, your world is turned upside down.  High gear ensues, you have to do exactly the right things to save your child’s life as well as protect the quality of that life.  Couple all of this pressure with what remains of your previous normal surroundings, other children, job, home, etc. and the added obstacle of doing this as a single parent.  You quickly have a formula for disaster.  LifeLine Pilots bridged the 500 road miles between priority one (beat cancer) and normal home life.  Without the generosity of these pilots, shuttling us each weekend for Samantha’s caregiver exchange, not only would our daughter’s will to fight and win against cancer be affected, but our other two daughters’ mental health would have been affected as well. LifeLine Pilots became the necessary catalyst in holding our lives together as we took this temporary life detour to save Samantha. Samantha Without them---unimaginable.  As a bonus, all the individuals we encountered throughout this service became a part of our personal support network to see us through these hard times.  There is absolutely no way we could have done what we have done, preserved what we have preserved, without this organization.  LifeLine Pilots, words, cannot thank you enough.  Angels do indeed have wings.”

Samantha’s Dad,
Jeff
